Five-Axis Post Processors & Machine Simulation

Bridge the gap between a correct toolpath and the movement of the real machine.

Independent UK post-processor engineering backed by more than 25 years of Autodesk and Delcam CAM experience.

What we can help with

A five-axis toolpath is only part of the story. The post, control and machine kinematics must agree about rotary positions, tool orientation, work offsets and safe moves. We help configure, troubleshoot and test those relationships.

3+2 positional machining

Indexed orientations, workplane output and machine-specific positioning conventions.

Simultaneous five-axis

Rotary motion, TCP/RTCP behaviour and controller-dependent NC output.

Machine simulation

Machine models, axis limits, kinematics and defined simulation test cases where supported.

Typical challenges

Examples of the issues we can investigate. The right solution depends on the exact machine, control and CAM workflow.

Unexpected rotary-axis positions

Review axis directions, angle preferences, limits and machine/control kinematic definitions.

Simulation and posted NC disagree

Compare machine models, post configuration and representative toolpaths.

Unsafe transitions between operations

Examine retract strategies, rotary repositioning and defined clearance moves.

Technical capabilities

  • Table-table, head-table and head-head configurations
  • Rotary-axis limits, direction and preferred solutions
  • TCP/RTCP and control-specific kinematic functions
  • Machine model integration and simulation test coverage
  • Post and NC comparisons, commissioning and regression checks

From review to commissioning

We start with the machine specification, controller details, CAM release and sample NC programs. We then agree the required output, develop or adjust the post and test representative cases before any planned machine prove-out.

Support is available for Autodesk Fusion, FeatureCAM, PartMaker and PowerMill where applicable to the requested work.

Simulation is a validation aid, not a substitute for machine-specific prove-out, safe operating procedures or operator judgement.
